Berria reaches the heart of Madrid with the aim of becoming the absolute benchmark for wine lovers. Our wine bar has an ambitious wine list never seen before in the city, a team of young experts who offer personalized service and a privileged location in the Plaza de la Independencia, in front of the Puerta de Alcalá and the Parque del Retiro, in an area recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Berria takes its name from Santoña beach, an enclave with a great emotional charge for our team, led by Gabriela Alcorta as founder and head of the interior design of the space, and the team of sommeliers brings their expertise from renowned national and international establishments.
A team of young professionals
Berria is driven by a team that places its trust in young talent, delivering an experience where every detail is carefully considered.
At the head of the wine program is Mario Ayllón, Berria’s Wine Director and one of the most influential voices in Spain’s wine scene.
Berria’s culinary experience is crafted by the kitchen team led by Chef María Mena, while the front-of-house team is directed by Jorge García. Together, they embody Berria’s commitment to excellence and innovation in both wine and hospitality.
